Venom: Let There Be Carnage: 23 WTF Moments

21. The INSANELY Choppy Editing

Whether you enjoy the film or not, it's tough to argue with how bizarrely choppy its editing style is.

Right from the opening flashback, the quick cuts and random fades between footage suggest a project that's been whittled down to its basest, most digestible form in post-production.

While on one hand this means we're not forced to sit through an exhausting 2+ hour slog of a Venom sequel, it does also mean that the hurried pace feels a bit too exhausting, even sloppy, for its own good.

It's not unheard of for studios to request that blockbusters remain with 120 minutes, but at just 97 minutes in length, more than 10 of which are the end credits, Let There Be Carnage is a frantic sprint to the finish line, often for the worse.
