Venom Post-Credits Scenes EXPLAINED

2. Mid-Credits Scene: Carnage

Venom Carnage
Sony & Marvel Comics

The first stinger ties into a long-held rumour that Woody Harrelson would be playing Cletus Kasady - AKA red symbiote Carnage - in Venom or a sequel.

The sequence sees Eddie Brock returning to his vocation of journalism and interviewing Dr Ashley Kafka and one of her patients at Ravenscroft Institute. That patient is none other than Harrelson in a shocking red wig that makes him look vaguely clownish and who clearly has several more screws lose than Brock even without the symbiote transformation.

Chillingly, he says to Brock "when I get out of here, there's going to be carnage"referring his symbiote-infused alter-ego from the comics and seemingly setting up a sequel whereby the two will meet. Assuming this film makes enough money to warrant that, anyway. Given the response to the trailers, you'd have to suggest there's a good possibility of that happening now.
