Venom Post-Credits Scenes EXPLAINED

1. Post-Credits Scene: Into The Spider-Verse

While there were hints all the way through production (inevitably) that Venom was going to include some sort of link to the MCU (which Sony's Spider-Verse is apparently an "annex" of, according to confusing messages from the producers), Tom Holland's Spider-Man does not appear in the movie. He's not there in Peter Parker form and he's not even mentioned.

Instead of a second tease for another film in Sony's Spider-Verse (for something like Morbius, which is set to come next), Sony have instead given the time over to a scene from the upcoming animated release Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, even though they cheekily tease an MCU possibility with a welcome message that will immediately pop some fans.

It's not the first time Sony have used this clip technique (which Marvel have also done in the MCU, in fact) as there was a clip from X-Men: Days of Future Past on the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (thanks to a favour to Fox, presumably), but it's a shame we didn't get to see something else firming up the live-action Sony Spider-Verse.
