Venom Trailer 2 Reactions: 2 Ups & 7 Downs

1. "We Are Venom"

The other major thing the movie seems to have gotten right, and it's a major necessity for the film to succeed, is the actual look of Venom. The trailer ends with Eddie being attacked, at which point the symbiote fights back and fully encases itself around Eddie's body in suitably disturbing fashion, before it quips, "We are Venom" and he brandishes his gigantic tongue.

The toothier Venom design looks a good deal more horrific than the Spider-Man 3 version, proving somewhat reminiscent of Pennywise from last year's It remake. The tongue doesn't hurt either, considering it was completely absent from the previous screen iteration.

And of course, there's that voice. There's so much potential for the Venom voice to come across unintentionally silly, but it's suitably deep and imposing - possibly voiced by the brilliant Lance Reddick as many have speculated online - as befits Venom's terrifying stature.

The CGI looks great, and though it remains to be seen how the character will look in motion and exactly how much screen time he'll get (probably less than 10 minutes), this is certainly one hell of a money shot.
