1. It's Just Ludicrous Enough

The best thing to say about this trailer is that it seems really past caring about subtlety and nuance in its sales pitch, which was a bit of a shortfall with the first trailer. This is a balls-out, lunatic celebration of the strangest things in Fleischer's movie.

We now know we're going to see SEVERAL symbiotes - including some symbiote-on-symbiote action - that Eddie Brock will be a sort of neurotic dweeb fighting with Venom's personality and that Venom will be a 1990s action anti-hero with a dirty mouth to match his grubby skin. This is a million miles away from the restraint of the first trailer and this will get talked about even more for exactly that reason.

It's a genius sales ploy by Sony and while there are some issues with it, the frankly bonkers stuff in there more than makes up for them.
