War Dogs Review: 5 Ups & 4 Downs

1. It's Surprisingly Educational & Factually Accurate

It's truly surprising not just how informative this movie is, but also how factually accurate it remains for the most part.

Yes, some facts have indeed been fudged to make it a more compelling, marketable movie (the actors are older than their characters, the character of Iz is a fabrication, some supporting characters have been elided or composited, and there's more action than in reality), but the core of the story sticks relatively close to what actually happened.

In terms of dropping the curtain on the global weapons trade in the same layman's terms that The Big Short did for Big Money, audiences are likely to learn a lot about the internal workings of the industry.

And of course, knowing that most of what transpired in this movie did in fact happen in real life only makes it that much more hilarious and terrifying.
