This is an incredibly good-looking movie from top to bottom, and certainly the most handsome and well-directed blockbuster of the year to date.

First and foremost, yes, those visual effects are practically beyond reproach: every single frame of the movie could be framed and put on a wall.

It's incredibly difficult to pick the film's visuals apart for digital seams, and that's to say nothing of the gorgeous cinematography, which captures the chilly bleakness of the American winter perfectly, before delivering one of the most visually awe-inspiring explosions in Hollywood blockbuster history.

If the series doesn't finally win the Best Visual Effects Oscar with this movie, then something's gone horribly wrong.
