Composer Michael Giacchino is keeping himself damn busy these days, with his scores for Spider-Man: Homecoming and Apes landing with the public within days of one another, but as great as his work on Spidey is, there's no question his score for this film is simply more full-bodied, textured and memorable.

Giacchino's new score homages both the previous films in this Apes trilogy and the wider franchise as a whole, delivering Oscar-worthy work that draws even more emotion out of Reeves and Serkis' sublime contributions, but doesn't dare overdo it when it comes to the big, visceral moments.

From the tailor-made 20th Century Fox opening signature, made out of tribal drums no less, through to its searing final track, Giacchino has unquestionably brought his A-game to this movie.
