I've never gotten into the whole world of online gaming. I think it's because I'm an old school gamer who grew up with the whole idea of multi-player gaming being kick your friend's ass on the sofa, leaving him weap in his own tears of incompetence. I've never understood how people can get pleasure from winning or losing against someone who lives in some cases, thousands and thousands of miles away. What's the point? Surely it's better to brag about your win right into the face of the opponent you just beat? Therefore, I don't know anything about
World of Warcraft but this sounds like big news so I'm posting it... It's been reported out from the
Blizz Con (what the hell is that anyway) is that a live-action Warcraft movie blended with CGI special effects has been greenlit for a 2009 release.
FACTS ON WARCRAFT THAT CAME OUT OF THE PANEL: They want the movie to be
EPIC and to reach out past their
9 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS. They name-dropped
BATMAN BEGINS and
300 (in terms of quality) and
BRAVEHEART &
LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY (in terms of action scenes). The movie is still in the
SCRIPTING PROCESS and they want the story to take place
ONE YEAR BEFORE the game. The storyline will be told from the
ALLIANCE perspective, mainly because of commercial reasons. They name-dropped
CHRISTOPHER NOLAN and
ZACK SNYDER in terms of the quality of director they are looking for. One concept art image was also released below...

Sounds an awful like Lord of the Rings which probably isn't a good thing in terms of marketing the movie but ya know, we are all fans of LOTR, another fantasy movie that takes aspects of it but is actually of some quality could be real interesting. source -
