Love it or hate it, the Wayans Brothers' race-swapping comedy White Chicks was a mammoth box office hit in 2004, no matter the absolute pasting it took from critics.
Sony first announced a sequel in 2009 yet it was ultimately scrapped, only for a second attempt to be announced in 2018, but nothing came of that one also.
But back in February, Marlon and Shawn Wayans told press that if their new Scary Movie sequel was a box office success, then the long-gestating White Chicks 2 would get made.
And considering that Scary Movie just crossed the $200 million mark worldwide on a budget of just $30 million, it's safe to say that White Chicks 2 is definitely happening.
Given that the surprise White Chicks gag in the new Scary Movie is one of the film's funniest moments, don't be surprised if this sequel gets fast-tracked into production now that Scary Movie is back on top.
As for what it might entail? Marlon Wayans loves the idea of "A Very White Chicks Christmas," but nothing is set in stone yet...
