Meta movies are all the rage right now, and so there's sure to be an audience for Family Movie - a horror-comedy directed by married couple Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, and starring the pair alongside their real-life kids Sosie and Travis Bacon.
The quartet star as a family of horror filmmakers whose work becomes a little too true to life when a corpse shows up on the set of their low-budget slasher flick, forcing them to cover it up in order to keep shooting.
Though the Bacons aren't playing themselves here, it's still incredibly rare to see an entire family of performers band together to play a fictionalised version of their own family unit.
Reviews since the film's SXSW premiere have largely praised its winning mix of horror and comedy, surprisingly sweet family dynamic, and firm tribute to low-budget filmmaking.
And at just 81 minutes in length, it seemingly doesn't run a second too long.
