Wes Craven: Every Movie Ranked Worst To Best
11. Music Of The Heart
If there's anything you wouldn't expect to be on a list of Wes Craven movies, it's a film starring Meryl Streep as a music teacher in a Harlem school giving violin lessons to underprivileged children, intent on holding a fundraising concert when budget cuts threaten the program.
There's no knife-wielding maniac running through the music stands, there's no creepy dream sequences where people are impaled with their own bows, and Meryl Streep certainly doesn't tear anyone apart in a shower of rage-induced gore - but we'd be totally up for seeing that movie.
Instead, it's a heartwarming break from Craven's genre work that's entirely... nice. It even got nominated for Academy Awards. Honestly, the fact this got made under Craven's name at all is actually far scarier than any of his other deeply twisted movies. It's perfectly fine as a feel-good film, just absolutely bizarre in its conception.
