What A Hardcore Uncharted Fan Thinks Of The Uncharted Movie

3. The Villains Are The Worst Uncharted Baddies To Date

Here's something that definitely doesn't rival the games.

Though bringing in Antonio Banderas to play the movie's villain was an inspired choice (he just feels like a classic Uncharted baddie, doesn't he?), he's completely wasted here, spending most of his limited screen time doing nothing exciting, interesting, or memorable.

I'd wager you can't even remember his character's name - I sure can't.

And when he does finally start to spice things up while delivering a speech onboard the cargo plane... he's suddenly killed off by Braddock, who then picks up the villainous reins. And unfortunately, things don't improve from here.

It doesn't help that neither character gets to interact with Nate all that much. Those moments are some of the best in the games - Roman holding Nate at gunpoint and shooting Sully, Rafe revealing Sam's deception - and it sucks that we don't get anything close to that level here.

It's just a big ol' shame overall, because Banderas had the potential to be a major scenery-chewer on par with Lazarevic or Marlowe. But as it stands, both of these villains are right at the bottom of the Uncharted pack.
