What Does Spider-Man: Far From Home's Trailer Mean For Avengers: Endgame?
7. Peter Comes Back, Obviously (And So Does Nick Fury)
This wasn't even the MCU's worst kept secret, because it hardly qualified as a secret at all. Even though watching Peter Parker disappear in Infinity War was a great moment - and one brilliantly played by Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr - it's never been in doubt that he'd be back. The Sony deal necessitates making Spider-Man films regularly, so with a Homecoming sequel already in the works, he had to return.
This trailer merely confirms it, although it does its best to acknowledge what year it is, as if to give the faint hope it could be set before Infinity War (such as removing the year on the passport). However, both Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal have commented on this movie being set after the fourth Avengers movie, which alone should be enough.
There are smaller hints in the trailer too, such as the fact it takes place in the summer meaning it couldn't really fit into Infinity War's timeline. So, however it happens, Peter comes back from the dead, and Nick Fury does too - but they don't meet in Avengers: Endgame.
