What Does The Ending Of Black Panther Really Mean?

5. W'Kabi Is Imprisoned?

Though he initially appears to be T'Challa's most loyal friend and ally in Wakanda at the start of the film, W'Kabi ends it allied with Killmonger having turned his tribe - and their heavily armoured rhino pals - against T'Challa and the Dora Milaje.

Since he's not killed and doesn't escape, we can assume that he will end up shackled as Killmonger refused to be and facing the consequences of his betrayal of his king (and not to mention his girlfriend Okoye).

So it's likely he's going to end up imprisoned, which could give a new villain in the second movie someone to rally to (unless he becomes the villain himself, inspired by Killmonger's martyrdom and T'Challa's betrayal of Wakanda's people?)

He deserves more screen-time, no matter what happens.
