What Happens After Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
1. Society's Morbid Fascination With Cults Is Subtly Different
There's no denying that society as a whole is absolutely fascinated with cults and how they operate - hence why there's so many damn Netflix documentaries and prestige mini-series made about them.
And much of our modern, collective obsession with cults dates back to the Manson Family's rampage, the psychology of which gripped not only general observers but also academics.
In many ways, that night is a precursor to a societal fascination with cults which continues to this day, yet had they been stopped in their tracks that night by Rick and Cliff, it's tough to imagine the Mason Family becoming quite the same tectonic icons.
After all, were their operation stamped out before it even got started, would it not invite more ridicule than morbid interest?
There's no denying that people would still be drawn to subsequent cults like Jim Jones' Peoples Temple or David Koresh's Branch Davidians, but there wouldn't be quite the same level of awe-struck mythologia which persists today.
