What Happens After Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
2. Jay Sebring Becomes A Legendary Hair Stylist
One of the movie's minor characters is Jay Sebring (Emile Hirsch), an American hairstylist and former lover of Sharon Tate's.
Though in the movie he's present in the final scene when Sharon invites Rick to join them inside her home, in reality Sebring was sadly another of Manson's victims.
It's fair to say that Sebring was already a considerable success at the time of his death, having pioneered methods of hairstyling which were extremely uncommon in the U.S. at the time, and which continue to be popular today.
His business boomed enough for him to open a salon franchise and sell hair-care products, and throughout the '60s he'd also worked in the hairstyling department for films such as Spartacus, The Great Escape, Bullitt, and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Had he not been killed at the mere age of 35, it's easy to see how Sebring would've enjoyed a long and extremely prosperous career as both an entrepreneur and stylist to the stars.
Hell, given that his stint in Hollywood saw him work with Kirk Douglas, Henry Fonda, Marlon Brando, Steve McQueen, and Paul Newman, it's entirely possible he would've won a Makeup and Hairstyling Oscar by the time the award became a regular fixture in the 1980s.
