6. Chris Rock Is Jimmy Olsen

It's obvious to anyone that Kevin Smith had a hand in this prospective bit of casting, though naturally it's one that would have caused an outrage with the comic book nerds because, of course, Chris Rock is black and Jimmy Olsen has always been white in the comics.

Remember when Idris Elba was cast as theNorse deity Heimdall in Kenneth Branagh's version of Thor? The outrage was huge, and that's for a character who isn't a millionth as well-known as Jimmy Olsen; the comic book fans would go absolutely insane, and of course, regardless of whether Rock was good in the role or not, he would struggle to overcome that prejudice.

Still, it's difficult to imagine Rock in the role given his most widely-known persona as a loudmouth, and Olsen's meant to be more of a nervous, younger guy, which Rock is neither (and wasn't even in the late 90s). Unless Smith significantly re-fashioned the character, this feels like stunt casting. In fact, it almost makes us wish his original choice - skeevy stoner Jason Mewes - was cast instead, if only because he was at least young enough to sell the part (though a stoner Jimmy? No thanks).
