What Marvel's Ant-Man And The Wasp Cast Look Like In The Comics

3. Hope Van Dyne

Ghost Comics Ant-Man and the Wasp
Marvel Comics/Marvel Studios

In The Comics:

Hope Pym is the pale-skinned daughter of Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne who appears as a part of Marvel's MC2 universe. Under the alias of the Red Queen, Hope is a supervillain and member of the Revengers who sports a winged, black and red suit visually similar to Janet van Dyne's original wasp outfit. As opposed to those of her deceased parents, however, Hope's exceptionally eye-catching suit is not known to have any sort of size-changing capability.

Also, despite their fabled lineage, the Red Queen and her twin brother, Big Man, have only made a handful of appearances in Marvel's history.

In The Film:

Hope van Dyne is a character who is significantly different from her original counterpart.

Played by the dark-haired Evangeline Lilly, Hope has now adopted her mother's surname (likely due to the initial resentment she had for her father), fights on the side of good, and, in turn, comes off as a much more suitable successor to her mother than her comic book self ever did.

Hope's new Wasp outfit takes cues from both Janet's on-screen suit, as well as Janet's Wasp later outfits from the comics, including the trademark wings, shrinking ability, along with the implementation of a color scheme more befitting of, well, a wasp.

In other words, it's rather safe to say that Marvel Studios has done right by their very first female title character.
