What Next For The MCU After Avengers: Endgame?

8. Fresh Crossovers

One of the most fan-pleasing aspects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been the way characters have crossed into each other's movies, whether it be for a brief cameo or a full-blown supporting role. One of the highlights of Thor: Ragnarok was the odd couple chemistry between Thor and Bruce Banner/The Hulk, while Captain America: Civil War featured so many characters that it was an Avengers movie in all but name, as well as one of the most entertaining entries in the franchise to date.

However, there had always been the feeling that these crossover moments were specifically designed to build up to the next big Avengers movie, but with Infinity War and Endgame both closing out the Infinity Saga and ending The Avengers as we know them, the two-parter came with an air of unpredictability regarding the future of the MCU.

Over the course of Infinity War and Endgame, our heroes were scattered across the galaxy and separated into combinations the audience had never seen before, which both added to the massive scope of the story and brought some freshness to the smaller, character-driven moments.

While the undoubted highlight was Thor's interactions with the Guardians of the Galaxy, Nebula and Tony Stark shared some surprisingly emotional scenes, Tony also got to hang out with his dad and Hawkeye and Black Widow traveled to an alien planet to battle to the death in front of the Red Skull, and even made a Budapest reference for good measure.

It was exciting to see new and unexpected moments like these, and with very little revealed so far about the studio's plans in a post-Endgame MCU, the possibilities about who could show up where will be generating plenty of debate among fans.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
