What Song Is Used In The Birds Of Prey Trailer?

Ever since she first appeared in Suicide Squad and emerged as one of the best parts of the whole thing, we've known that we're getting more Harley Quinn. That we'd be getting quite as much as Birds Of Prey seems to be serving up might come as something of a surprise to fans, though.

The first teaser for the forthcoming Suicide Squad spin-off - and that IS still what it is whether you like it or not - has just landed and it's... divided opinions let's just say.

It's going to make fans of Suicide Squad and those who want to see more of Harley Quinn enthusiastic, but for everyone else, it's a little difficult to see past how little the other Birds Of Prey are even involved in the trailer. Maybe that comes later?

Anyway, as ever, the trailer is set to music and fans will want to know exactly where it comes from, to add it to their DC playlists.

The song used - which is a pretty bold choice - is a recut version of Edith Piaf's "L'hymne à l'amour", which is definitely not as good as the "Heads Will Roll" choice for the shorter, earlier teaser.

It's an interesting song in narrative terms, because the French romantic anthem - the title of which translates as Hymn To Love - which was written by Piaf in the late 1940s as an ode to the love of her life, boxer Marcel Cerdan, who was killed in a plane crash on his way from Paris to New York to come to see her. It would seem that the song's lament about lost love says something about Harley's past and things - or someone - she can't quite let go?
