What The Avengers: Infinity War Cast Look Like In The Comics
8. Bruce Banner
In the Comics:
Marvel's strongest hero in terms of brute strength, Hulk is one of the comics' most iconic heroes - Bruce Banner the genius scientist remembered for saving a child during a gamma bomb test that gave him his powers.
As the Hulk, he was able to throw down with Thanos alongside Drax the Destroyer, when multiple heroes across titles banded together to thwart the Mad Titan. However, the power of the Gauntlet overcame even them.
In the Film:
In the beginning of Infinity War, Hulk attempts to fight Thanos, but is soundly defeated. Flung to Earth by Heimdall, Bruce lands in Strange's Sanctum and warns the heroes of Earth about the imminent threat.
Hulk is MIA for the rest of the film, terrified by Thanos into hiding, giving Bruce Banner a chance to shine, donning the Hulk-Buster to fight alongside his team. He's one of those to remain alive after Thanos' victory.
Though portrayed by Edward Norton in his solo film, he's since been portrayed by Ruffalo from the first Avengers onward. The Hulk and Banner's film portrayals have been fairly accurate to their comics counterparts, with Ruffalo playing the perfect haggard scientist that Banner is when he's not big and green.
