What The Avengers: Infinity War Cast Look Like In The Comics
27. Cull Obsidian
In the Comics:
Called Black Dwarf, this member of Thanos's Black Order is one of the titan's most powerful subordinates, with his enormous stature, unbreakable skin, and great strength.
Though he was cast out for his failure after being defeated by the people of Wakanda, he was set to guard The Peak base from the Avengers who sought to reclaim it, eventually murdered by Ronan the Accuser.
In the Film:
In Infinity War, Black Dwarf was renamed Cull Obsidian, and is portrayed in motion capture by the motion coach, Terry Notary, famous for his role in designing creature movement in The Hobbit.
An enormous, hulking beast and one of Thanos's Children, Cull Obsidian is seen alongside Ebony Maw attacking New York to retrieve the Time Stone, and then again in Wakanda, where he's defeated by Bruce Banner launching him into Wakanda's barrier and killing him.
His great strength seems to rival the Hulk's, as he was able to take on the Hulkbuster armour and throw down with Tony's advanced Bleeding Edge armour and Spider-Man's enhanced strength at the same time. He greatly resembles his comics counterpart, if slightly more armoured and greyer in colour.
