WATN: Paul Winfield & Earl Boen
PAUL WINFIELD
AS
LIEUTENANT ED TRAXLER
Paul Winfield began his film career in 1969 in THE LOST MAN opposite Sidney Poitier, after spending a number of years honing his craft in TV. In 1972 he starred in SOUNDER, a role that earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. Winfield starred in a plethora of films and TV shows throughout the seventies and early eighties in a variety of diverse roles, including roles in the musical adaptation of Mark Twains HUCKLEBERRY FINN, KING a mini series about the life of Martin Luther King Jnr. and STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN. In the years following his role in THE TERMINATOR as jaded cop Traxler, Winfield further show his diversity by taking on gay roles in MIKES MURDER and RELAX ITS JUST SEX in 1998. Winfields film and TV work continued into the nineties, also taking on voice work, including the Don King-inspired Lucious Sweet on THE SIMPSONS. Winfields most high profile film appearances post-Terminator were in the big screen version of DENNIS THE MENACE, MARS ATTACKS! and the TV remake of the film that earned him his OSCAR nomination; SOUNDER. Sadly Paul Winfield died of a heart attack in 2004, aged 64.EARL BOEN
AS
DOCTOR PETER SILBERMAN
Thus far, other than Schwarzenegger, Earl Boen is the only actor to have appeared in all three TERMINATOR films as psychologist Dr. Peter Silberman. Earl Boens career began in TV in the early seventies, his move onto the big screen began with a blink-and-youll-miss-it appearance in AIRPLANE II. Boen then appeared opposite Steve Martin in THE MAN WITH TWO BRAINS in 1983 before taking on his best known role in 1984 as Dr. Silberman. His TV work continued through the eighties, including voice work on several animated productions. In 1991, Boen returned for T2, this time in a longer, more prominent role, following T2 he appeared alongside Leslie Nielsen in NAKED GUN 33 1/3: THE FINAL INSULT, again playing a Doctor. Throughout the nineties Boen became increasingly involved in voiceover work rather than on screen acting, he did however appear in THE NUTTY PROFESSOR II: THE KLUMPS in 2000 and he reprised his role, albeit briefly in T3. Now all but retired from screen acting, Boen continues to work regularly as a voice actor. --- Previous Entries in the Where Are They Now Series...
