2. A Bug's Life (1998)
A Bug's Life expands on that last point. The bugs in the film are shown to be happy all by themselves and to be resentful towards humans. To them humans only want to eliminate the bug's life (see what I did there?) and this will cause a feud to break out between them and the toys over the fate of the humans sometime in the future. The bugs are also shown to be just as resourceful as the toys but for very different reasons. They want to protect their homes and keep things the way they are but humans forbid them from doing this. The toys, however, love the humans and want them to stay. Battle lines have been drawn. While there isn't likely to ever be a film made that shows the creature vs. the sentient, AI toys of the Pixar universe one can dream right?

My favorite movies are Before Sunrise, Pulp Fiction, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien and Her so don't be surprised to see those pop up in my writing from time to time. I'm currently in school for Journalism/English and I have an obsession with all things cinematic on the side.
