Why Sam Raimi Is Perfect For Doctor Strange 2

Not only does Sam Raimi himself have huge name recognition that would draw in an audience by sheer virtue of who he is but he also has friends. Raimi's long history in the film industry has connected him to a number of actors who as with many longtime directors would come back as soon as he asks. This would mean that Doctor Strange could include many actors we might otherwise never expect to see in a marvel movie.

Toby Maguire has already been mentioned but he's not the only one from the Spider-Man films who could be convinced to return. James Franco, having already shown his eagerness to work with Raimi in Oz the Great and Powerful is also very likely to be cast. Kirsten Dunst or even Willem Dafoe could be coaxed back if offered a chance to work with Raimi again.

But the Spider-Man cast are not the only ones we might get. In a movie about the multiverse the possibilities are endless. Bruce Campbell is in pretty much every Sam Raimi movie, so we can probably expect him for sure. Lucy Lawless would also be high on the list of people who would show up as might definitely be Kevin Sorbo.

More interesting still is the real possibility that they could show up as their own characters, Ash, Xena and Hercules might well make an appearance in a Sam Raimi directed Doctor Strange!
