8. Deadly Yoga - In a Violent Nature
In a Violent Nature may be one of the most divisive horror films of the last few years, but surely we can all agree that the yoga kill is freakin' awesome.
Halfway through the artsy slasher flick, Aurora (Charlotte Creaghan) heads off to the cliffside for a tranquil yoga session, only to be set upon by the Jason Voorhees-esque masked murderer Johnny (Ry Barrett).
Johnny ultimately does anything but make swift work of her, first using his hook to disembowel Aurora from the back, then forcing her head through the hole he just made, and to add insult to injury - well, death - he kicks her off the edge of the cliff.
Considering that the film's Slow Cinema approach primed audiences to expect a fair level of restraint on the gore front, this completely insane death scene hit all the harder through sheer unexpectedness.
Needless to say, the filmmakers will struggle to top this level of creative brutality with the impending sequel.
