William Hurt signs up for The Countess

William Hurt has signed up for Julie Delpy's vampire flick The Countess about the famed Elizabeth Bathroy of the 16th century. Daniel Bruhl who appears in Delpy's rom-com 2 Days in Paris has also been cast in the movie according to comments over at MTV. Hurt is set to play a very powerful guy with tons of political intrigue and who's a bit of a Machiavellian. No word yet on whether this will be one of his usual 5 minute cameo's which just simply steal the show or whether this will be a more full out character with much screentime. I'm hoping for the latter. We can never get too much of Hurt on our screen! I honestly can't wait to see him as the big bad guy in The Incredible Hulk which is surely one of the most interesting villain casting in a comic book movie for years. I mean here's a guy with more presence than 95% of the actors in Hollywood today and is one of those actors who when he turns it on as a bad guy, you can't help but be mesmerized by him. Filming on the movie which Delpy describes as a romantic movie with the hint of a thriller begins in October. Julie Delpy leads the film as Barthroy with Radha Mitchell and Vincent Gallo already cast and remember there's no Ethan Hawke after he had to pull out of the film for scheduling reasons.
