2. Get Mystique!
X-Men Origins spent just a few minutes going through Wolverine's massive history as the tale they wanted to tell took place much later in his life, but despite this, many writers in the comic book world have taken it upon themselves to flesh out certain periods in the superhero's life. Some have explored his time as a soldier during World War II while others have concentrated on his life in the wild soon after he discovered he had powers. Out of all of these, though, one of the most unique yet ultimately sweet episodes concerned his past as a lover of Mystique. Set during the present day but having constant flashbacks, Wolverine finds himself trying to track down the shapeshifter while reflecting on their days as a pair of criminals on the run from the authorities with no one to trust but each other. While First Class horribly decided to make Mystique and Professor X brother/sisters, X2 already hinted that there is a spark of sorts between Wolverine and her. Perhaps something went on in the aftermath of Days of Future Past and the new Wolverine film could explore that dynamic; of course with Rebecca Romijn instead of Jennifer Lawrence.
