1. Kitty Pride And Wolverine
One of the most surprisingly endearing relationships present in Wolverine stories is that of Logan and Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat). Throughout the years, the two have developed a strong bond that has resulted in writers being able to develop good stories based on their chemistry alone, as was seen in the Wolverine: First Class arc. This all began with a six-issue run by Claremont three years after his Wolverine comic book called Kitty Pryde and Wolverine, which saw the duo going to to Japan in order to save Kitty's father from the Yakuza. The end experience transformed both characters, making Wolverine more of an open, less-hardened character and ironically doing the opposite for Pryde. In the film series, Singer opted to establish the same relationship, only this time with Rogue instead of Pryde. Despite this, we've already gotten hints that Days of Future Past will have Pryde and Logan interact in order to initiate the time travel mechanic. With Pryde not having any established backstory, and Claremont's arc being a near-direct sequel to the Japan adventure, it's very possible that we could see his 1985 comic being the main source of inspiration for The Wolverine sequel.
