Wolverine vs. Darth Maul: Fantasy Match-Up
Weaponry: Wolverine's claws have the ability to cut through nearly anything given enough power as his claws are laced with adamantium. They have even cut through the flesh of the Hulk, which in the past has shrugged off tank rounds with ease. He's also an adept ambidextrous fighter, utilizing both claws in a non-stop frenzy of right and left assault. The biggest problem with these claws is their reach, barely better than a long dagger or knife. With all other things being considered approximately equal, Darth Maul's remaining advantage is the light saber. It is a plasma sword that can cut through anything. Or at least anything within the Star Wars canon ... except another light saber, of course. If Darth simply tapped Wolverine with his saberstaff the wound would be immediately debilitating if not fatal. The reach of such a weapon is approximately three feet on each end, more than doubly Wolverine's threat range. Advantage: Darth Maul Toughness: For lack of a better term, I'm considering this category how much damage the each combatant can absorb before they are unable to continue the fight. Darth Maul has not shown any appreciable body armor (either artificial or natural) to prevent injury. What he has shown AFTER the second trilogy was that his ability in the Dark Side of the Force was able to keep him alive ... even with half his body missing. He suffered greatly, lost his mind, and was only restored by his brother, Savage Oppress. Darth Maul did not recover from his injury, but was cybernetically restored with robotic legs (first spider, then bipedal). Toughness is Wolverine's middle name. If he get hit the Hulk and live, you're freaking tough. His mutant healing factor has increased over the life of the character, explained as his body continually evolving to the greater demands required through his battles and adventures. Yes, a plasma sword would burn his flesh and cook his innards. But Wolverine has survived an atomic bomb ...
He was literally burned down to just his skeleton and regenerated. Plasma sword or not, Wolverine has a HUGE advantage here. In fact, the only way to kill Wolverine has been theorized to cut off his head and then remove it from the vicinity of his body. Holy s**t. Advantage: Wolverine Click "Next" for the epic conclusion...
