Wonder Woman: 10 Major DCEU Problems It Fixed
9. No Shoehorned Cameos Or References
In a transparent effort to make up for the fact that they are severely trailing behind Marvel in the cinematic universe department, the DCEU films have been known to cram as many cameos and Easter Eggs to connect to the other movies, which tend to come off as forced rather than clever or warranted.
There was the Joker taunting Batman via Robin's suit in Batman v Superman, which made no logical sense considering that neither character had been introduced at that point, in addition to not tying in to the rest of the film in any fashion.
That film also featured brief appearances from other Justice League members, once again making the universe-building feel incredibly rushed. Then there was Flash's cameo in Suicide Squad that accomplished precisely nothing, as well as Batman's, which only served as a reminder of how much better that film could have been.
With Wonder Woman, Warner Bros. steers clear of this, opting to simply tell its own self-contained story without any intrusive interruptions that do nothing but raise more questions than they answer. There are references and nods to the audience, sure, but nothing nearly as blatantly cheeky as what we've gotten before.
