Wonder Woman 1984: 5 Ways Steve Trevor Could Return

4. Steve Has Been Resurrected By The Gods

We learned in the first film that Diana - and all of the Amazons - were brought to life by Zeus in order to protect mankind. However, it was later clarified that Diana is more than just an Amazon - she is a god, and that is why she was able to defeat the villainous Ares during the final moments of the movie.

If she possesses the power of a god, then we can't help but wonder if she also has the ability to resurrect people from the dead? It's not impossible; if a powerful god like Zeus was able to create an entire race of human beings in the Amazons, then surely resurrecting one formerly alive human shouldn't be too difficult a task?

If this does come to pass, and we learn that the film's signature heroine has the ability to resurrect, then could she perhaps bring her one true love back from the dead? It doesn't seem like something Diana would do, but then again we don't know much about what happened to her immediately after Steve's demise. She likely mourned his loss, so what if she took things to far and brought him back to life?

But if this is how Steve makes a return to the franchise, then - much like the last point on this list - it would also cause a bit of a continuity problem. In Justice League (which is set during the present day) the titular group of heroes attempt to resurrect Superman, but Diana doesn't mention anything about having the ability to bring someone back from the great beyond.

This one will likely prove to be nothing more than an ambitious theory but, then again, this is the DCEU we're talking about.
