Wonder Woman: 9 Signs It Will Redeem The DCEU
5. The Cast Is Stacked
The DCEU has boasted some incredible casts so far. BvS had the likes of Amy Adams, Jeremy Irons and Laurence Fishburne while Suicide Squad had Margo Robbie, Will Smith, and Jared Leto fresh off winning a Best Supporting Actor Oscar. While having a stacked cast does not automatically equate to a great movie, it definitely helps to have a solid foundation for the filmmakers to build off of. Just imagine how much worse the reception for the DCEU output would have been if they didn't have their respective A-list casts to make the material sing.
Wonder Woman is continuing the DCEU trend of having big stars round out its roster. Robin Wright will play Diana Prince's aunty Antiope, the lady who taught Wonder Woman everything she knows. Wright is parlaying her successful turn in House of Cards into a career renaissance so she will want to keep her hot streak going by putting her all into her performance. And Chris Pine, a leading man in his own right, will play Diana King's love interest Steve Trevor, bringing his awesome charisma and charm to bear. Having these two stars help Gadot do the heavy-lifting will ensure Wonder Woman shines.
