Wonder Woman: Every Major Character Ranked From Worst To Best

Gal Gadot IS Wonder Woman.

Although not given too much to work with, Gal Gadot made a good first impression as Wonder Woman with her appearance in last year's Batman v Superman. Given the chance to develop the character further and lead her own movie, Gadot absolutely kills it.

There's already been a lot of praise heaped on the Israeli actress' performance, but she deserves every platitude coming her way. Whether she's the Princess of Themyscira going into full-on warrior mode, or Diana Prince as a fish-out-of-water in the land of men, Gadot absolutely shines. This is her biggest role to date, and it's a star-making turn.

She's great as the great Amazon warrior who earns the right to wear Antiope's headpiece and wield the sword Godkiller, with some truly stunning action sequences, not least of which is the incredible No Man's Land scene. But she's just as good, if not even better, in the quieter moments: when she's displaying that chemistry with Pine, trying to fit in and learn the ways of this world, or discovering its ugly truths.

She's funny in those latter scenes, but there's also such an earnest, inherent sense of pure goodness to the character that's really been lacking from the DCEU. Gal Gadot is brilliant, and Wonder Woman is the superhero the DCEU needs right now.
