9. Doctor Poison

With a glorious name like Doctor Poison - or Doctor Maru to her face - there's definitely scope for a wonderfully madcap evil scientist type of character here, and there are signs of something more lurking underneath.

Unfortunately that's never really allowed to come out, since the character is largely underused (it's safe to say the film has a villain problem). There's something interesting about the character, in both her appearance and her sheer evil delight in concocting these monstrous poisons, and potentially greater depths to be explored, suggested when we see under the mask.

Ultimately, though, she's just not given enough to do, instead playing sidekick to Ludendorff, and it would've been good to spend more time with her. The focus is rightly on Wonder Woman, but it does mean none of the villains make an impact.
