Wonder Woman Movie: 10 Signs It Might Actually Be Good

5. Chris Pine Looks Set To Play Steve Trevor

It was recently revealed that Chris Pine is in talks to play Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman, and that's a very impressive casting addition to the movie. Despite earning plenty of praise for his work in the Star Trek movies as Captain Kirk, Pine's career has failed to take off. His attempt at the romantic comedy genre (This Means War) fell flat, as did Kenneth Branagh's Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. That was meant to be the start of a new franchise, but it flopped. These failures take nothing away from Pine as an actor though, and he showed his charisma in each of those movies. While it's a little surprising that he hasn't been cast as a superhero like Green Lantern or The Flash, perhaps he's just not leading man material (not yet anyway), thereby making him the perfect choice to play Wonder Woman's love interest. That's far from a bad role, and as Steve Trevor, there's every chance he could go on to play a key role in the DC Cinematic Universe if Wonder Woman is set in the present day. In the comics, Steve acts as a liaison to the Justice League on behalf of the government, and later even leads his own Justice League of America. If the rumours about this being set in the past are true and it's a one off appearance, he's still a big enough name to help increase interest.
