Wonder Woman Reviews: 10 Critical Reactions You Must See
1. The Best Of The DCEU
The DCEU has largely struggled to get going: Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Suicide Squad all - to varying degrees - received poor critical reception; the box-offices have been solid, but not as great as expected (especially for a film with both Bats and Supes in it); and there have been behind-the-scenes issues and changes on a number of films, including The Flash and The Batman.
So maybe it's not saying too much to call Wonder Woman the best so far, but that's exactly the label being put on it. Empire writes: "The DC Extended Universe has its first truly terrific entry under its belt." Uproxx echo this, saying "Wonder Woman is the fourth movie of the DCEU and it’s easily its best (and I say this as someone who liked Man of Steel)." EW, who give the film an A-, call it "The DC movie you’ve been waiting for has finally arrived."
It's echoed across almost all of the reviews so far, but it's not just a token comment due to the critical failings of the other films, but a genuinely earned praise, with a raft of reviews coming in at around the 4* mark. As IndieWire (who also give it an A-) say at the end of their review:
"There’s only one word for it: wonderful."
