Wonder Woman Reviews: 10 Critical Reactions You Must See
2. Gal Gadot Is A Star
Gal Gadot doesn't have much experience in fronting a major summer blockbuster - though she did prove her capabilities as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman, albeit briefly - but that doesn't seem to have made much of a difference, because going on the reviews this is indeed a star-making turn from the actress.
The Telegraph call her "endlessly watchable," and add that she has a "genuine movie-star aura." EW's review says something similar, calling attention to Gadot's "undeniable star power" in the movie. As Screen Crush notes, she's more-than capable in both the action stakes and as the fish-out-of-water Diana:
"Gadot proved she could stand shoulder to shoulder with more well-established heroes in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and she’s even better in Wonder Woman... she’s endearingly innocent in the scenes where Diana discovers the restrictive women’s clothing of the early 20th century, but she’s equally good as the battle-hardened warrior."
Not all reviews are effusive in their praise, though. IGN write that her acting is "uneven", while The Guardian (who have probably the most negative review) writes: "Gadot is entirely credible as the embodiment of Amazonian perfection, but there’s only so much emotion her concerted brow-furrowing can convey."
