Wonder Woman Vs The Dark Knight: Which Is Better?

10. Narrative

The Dark Knight Wonder Woman
Warner Bros.

The Dark Knight remains one of the most ambitious superhero movie stories to date, daring to meld Batman's more typical duel with The Joker around a more morally complex, Michael Mann-esque crime narrative, and that's without even mentioning the late-day addition of Two-Face once the Clown Prince of Crime is dealt with.

Conversely, Wonder Woman adopts a similar approach to Captain America: The First Avenger, depicting a war-time superhero who has yet to fully embrace their popular persona, while fending off the typical period adventure movie baddies: evil Germans.

Winner: The Dark Knight is the easy winner here because it did something incredibly ambitious with the typical comic book movie formula, whereas Wonder Woman was basically the solid execution of a familiar template. Wonder Woman's tone is arguably a more agreeable mix of light and dark, but Batman wins overall.
