Wonder Woman Vs The Dark Knight: Which Is Better?
5. Performances
As mentioned, Heath Ledger won an Oscar for his work as The Joker, while Aaron Eckhart and Christian Bale were also widely praised as Two-Face and Batman, and that's without even mentioning the embarrassment of casting riches that includes Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michael Caine, Eric Roberts and even Cillian Murphy, briefly reprising his Scarecrow role.
Wonder Woman's no slouch, either: Gal Gadot gives a terrific central performance that plays to her strengths, while Chris Pine is a charming and thoroughly entertaining sidekick, and there are notable supporting turns from Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, David Thewlis, Lucy Davis, Saïd Taghmaoui and Ewen Bremner.
Winner: Both casts do great work, but The Dark Knight simply achieves more ambitious and acclaimed performances with its actors, and doesn't under-utilise a number of its hired talents quite as egregiously as Wonder Woman does (especially Huston and Anaya).
