6. More of the Dead
Zombies are in right now, don't you know, have been for a while now. As a result, the Film, TV and Gaming industries seem to be throwing enough money at the genre to fund an end to world hunger. Which makes me start to wonder, is World War Z arriving because someone had a great idea for how to execute it, or because Hollywood needs new Zombie stories and can't actually be bothered coming up with one of their own? With World War Z, what I'm seeing are zombies for zombies' sake and if I'm honest, I'm not sure if Brad Pitt is arriving a little late to the party. Outside of the phenomenal Walking Dead TV show (which is unique to the genre in how it extends the typical 'Zombie Apocalypse' arc way beyond when it would normally have ended), do we really need, or even want another nondescript zombie themed popcorn shoveller? That's up to you to decide of course, but hell, I did my
dissertation on Zombie Cinema and even
I'm on the verge of crying out "enough is enough".
