World War Z Trailer: 10 Reasons It Will Probably Suck and 1 Reason It Might Not

5. It Looks Pretty Generic

As I watch through the World War Z trailer, I can't help but be struck with how generic it looks. Sure it looks polished, it's clearly got money behind it, but that effectively does nothing to separate it from the hordes of other bland, generic disaster movies that are already out there way ahead of it. Again, I'd say this probably comes down to leadership, to the artistic vision (or reportedly lack thereof) from the director. It's his job to create a unique selling point, to make this film look and more importantly feel fresh. But based on the trailer, I'm struck more with frustrated nostalgia than excitement. Now again, I could be wrong - I'm a blogger, not a psychic - but reading the signs as best I can, I'm predicting less World War Z, more World War Zzzzz...
