2. The CGI Monster - Bodycam
The recent found footage film Bodycam follows two cops, Bryce (Sean Rogerson) and Jackson (Jaime M. Callica), who take a seemingly routine domestic disturbance call only to get dragged down the near-literal rabbit-hole of a demonic cult.
In the film's climax, Jackson comes face-to-face with a grotesque tentacled creature which the cult appears to follow, but per the film's extremely low budget, the monster's CGI face and tentacles end things on an unintentionally comical note.
It goes without saying that high concept genre filmmaking at this constrained budget level is extremely difficult, and so filmmaker Brandon Christensen is to be commended for taking a hard swing, but ultimately, the VFX limitations ensure that a potentially terrifying creature ends up looking rather silly.
A more practical solution might've been the way to go here, or assuming that wasn't possible, simply never showing a full body shot of the entity at all.
