20 Movie Roles That Were Insanely Miscast

Now here's one that's sure to ruffle a few feathers, especially considering that Florence Pugh received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for her performance as Amy March in Little Women.

While Pugh is terrific in the contemporary scenes as an adult Amy, it all falls apart during the flashbacks where she's required to play a 12-year-old version of the character - despite being 23 years old when she shot the part.

Seeing Pugh wearing pig-tails, acting petulant, and being surrounded by actual children clearly about a decade younger than herself is absolutely laughable, and makes it impossible to take these scenes seriously.

Pugh certainly gives it her all, but if this is how Gerwig wanted the flashbacks to play out, she might've been better off casting an actress a few years younger who could more easily convince as an adolescent - or better yet, just cast somewhat older actors as her classmates to make it all less noticeable.
