8. How Did Magneto Get His Powers Back?
It seems we will never get an answer to this one. During the climax of the Last Stand, Magneto was injected with the Cure, which throughout the movie had effectively removed the powers of every mutant who had contact with it. However at the end we see the master of magnetism in the park manipulating a metal chess piece. The question is how? Did Magneto somehow develop a cure to the Cure? Is his DNA simply immune to it? Or is the Cure only temporary, eventually wearing off, no matter who is affected? Rogue also took the Cure in the Last Stand (in her case voluntarily) and it has been implied that she still has her powers in the future. We will have to wait for the extended cut to find out, but we definitely saw Erik using his powers during the final battle. Once again nobody seemed remotely curious about it. Presumably Bryan Singer made sure no questions were asked.
