X-Men: Apocalypse - 10 Characters Ben Hardy Could Be Playing

10. En Sabah Nur

En Sabah Nur was portrayed by Canadian actor Brendan Pedder in the post-credits scene of X-Men: Days of Future Past and, while the older version of the character, i.e. Apocalypse, will be played by Oscar Isaac for the bulk of X-Men: Apocalypse, there may well be scenes showing the character when he was younger. In the same way that Thanos was played by Damion Poitier in the mid-credits scene of The Avengers and then recast for his more prominent role in Guardians Of The Galaxy (with Josh Brolin taking over as the Mad Titan), the same could well be done with regards to Pedder and Hardy. It does seem extremely unlikely that Apocalypse will just show up with no portrayed explanation of his past - he's the first mutant and has been around for thousands of years and therefore has a very detailed back-story - so somebody has to be playing the younger version. If not Pedder, there's no reason why it shouldn't be Hardy, as heavy make-up and special effects can make up for the lack of obvious visual similarity between the actor and the character.
