He might not be as old as Egerton, but Blackley actually looks older, and would be less convincing as a teenage Scott - though that might suit the agenda to start introducing him as a leader in waiting. The Isle Of Man born actor was one of the teen sensations of 2014 thanks to starring in If I Stay alongside Jean Grey candidate Chloe Moretz, and he's no stranger to some fairly sizeable Hollywood projects, having cut his teeth on The Fifth Estate and Snow White And The Huntsman. He might not quite be a household name yet, but he's proved himself diverse enough to tackle Singer's demands for the character. Would He Work? He's certainly got that young leader edge about him, and he's the right sort of physical shape to pull of an athletic younger mutant too. It's just whether he's well-known enough.
