X-Men: Apocalypse - 10 Things From The Comics That Could Feature

2. Cable

Cable has been mentioned a few times already in this piece. The son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor, Nathan Christopher Summers was infected with a techno-organic virus and the only way to save him was to send him 2000 years into the future. Raised in the tutelage of the Clan Askani, Nathan grew up to become a freedom fighter in a hellish world ruled by Apocalypse. He then time travelled to the present day, intending to destroy Apocalypse once and for all before his future came to pass. While in the present, Cable also took over leadership of the New Mutants, later transforming them into X-Force. As has been mentioned, Fox wants an X-Force movie, and there€™s no better character to headline that movie than Cable. Given how integral Apocalypse is to Cable€™s story, it stands to reason that X-Men: Apocalypse is the perfect venue to introduce the character. Cable could appear as a mystery man from the future, trying to destroy Apocalypse before he conquers the world. We don€™t even need to go into his whole convoluted backstory with the Summers family tree, that could be bypassed completely (although there was an appearance by a kid with a white streak in his hair, a trademark of not only Rogue but also Nate Grey, Cable€™s alternate universe counterpart). Once the dust settles at the end of X-Men: Apocalypse, maybe Cable doesn€™t believe the threat is really gone. This could mean a post-credits sequence where he begins recruiting young mutants to join a new team€”X-Force. How better to spin off X-Force than by using an X-Men movie as a springboard?
