X-Men: Apocalypse - 10 Things From The Comics That Could Feature
4. Gambit
At this point, the Ragin Cajun likely needs no introduction. Hes probably the most popular X-Man, second only to Wolverine. Which is why its a surprise that hes had so little exposure in the films. Taylor Kitsch played the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and his performance was largely panned (although one could argue it had more to do with the shoddy script than the actors ability). And while we dont know much about the movie, what we do know is that Singer has said hed like to see Gambit in the film. Adding to the possibility of the roguish character appearing, Channing Tatum has all but been cast as Gambit. While it hasnt been made official, both Tatum and the producers want it to happen, so its likely only a matter of time. What sort of role would Gambit play in the movie, though? If Sinister is in the movie, then thats one way to bring him in. Gambit and Sinister have a long history in the comics and as a bit of trivia, Chris Claremont originally conceived of Gambit as Sinisters spy in the X-Men. This plan was changed by later writers, but they did keep the connection between the two characters. Gambit used to undertake missions for Sinister and he was even responsible for both assembling the Marauders and leading them into the Morlock Tunnels (so now weve got a connection to another possibility on this list).
